Castlemont Career Day: School will participate in a Career Day. Date TBD. Not certain if we will have entire school.
Faculty BBQ: August 15, 2012. To be held at school. Moved and seconded. Passed. Committee: Pat Schuhert, Rita Washington, Bob Balandra, Rich Klier, Vincent Owens. Purpose is to build a relationship with faculty.
Hall of Fame Memory Room: School to set aside room for a display of our history. No specifics yet. Greg Hickey volunteered to be the contact person. Contact Is Principal John Lynch.mm
Mural: Vincent Owens will take the lead. He has an artist contact, Oding Mustafa (class of 1973), he will be invited to a future meeting.
Math Afternoon: held 2007, 2008 and 2009. Last year students not interested. Try again next year.
Math Competition: Upcoming dates in February. Moved and second allocate $200.
Open discussion/Brainstorming: Vincent Owens participated in Mock Interviews at school. Also invited UPS to participate. He will try to tie into that event and will provide additional information in the future.
Regina Wilkerson suggested school integrate trades and industrial arts into curriculum. Rita Washington also suggests workshops and career development. Further discussion at August meeting.
Welcome new board members Bob Balandra and Lawrence Bennett.

Treasurer report. Bill unable to make the meeting. Bill will arrange lunch with Erica.
2/25/12 luncheon Regina presented bill for floral arrangements and the Knights. $92.07. Approved.
Membership report by Rita Washington: Two new members, no additional changes.

Scholarship: Committee: Check previous minutes for members. This committee will work on setting up the policies and procedures for awarding scholarships. The question was raised about fundraising; concluded that another committee will work on fundraising activities.
Fundraising Ideas: Day at Races, Cookbook, and Art Auction
Hall of Fame Election procedure: Should start in November. Approved. Next year request that nominations must include contact information for nominees.
Moved, seconded and passed. The 2012 Hall of Fame Honorees, if located, will be honored at the 2013 luncheon. Our new 2013 nominating form will need to have contact information and a Bio otherwise the nominee will not be considered for the ballot.
Regina suggested that we consider presenting Honorees with certificates instead of trophies.
Our next board meeting will be August 11, 2012 at the Boys and Girls Club at 3300 High St. in Oakland. The emergency number for entering the building in case the doors are locked will be Vincent's cell number 510-9133474
